Around the World Show
A Multicultural Musical Adventure for Early Learning Centres
Travel the world through music, language and movement as children sing confidently in multiple languages — guided by Captain Cheeky on an unforgettable global adventure.
Around the World is a fully interactive musical incursion designed specifically for early learning centres. Through original songs, vibrant props and hands-on participation, children explore cultures across the globe while building confidence, curiosity and connection.
Our Journey Begins on Country
Like all Cheeky Tunes shows, we begin with an Acknowledgement of Country.
Children learn to say hello in the Aboriginal language of the land they are standing on.
On Dharug Country, we say Warami.
On Dharawal Country, we say Nagambi.
This grounding moment reminds children that every journey begins with respect.
We then launch into our upbeat “Around the World” theme song — a punchy, high-energy celebration that builds excitement for the adventure ahead:
“There are so many countries and places we can go.
There are so many languages and ways to say hello.
Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go!”
Children fasten their imaginary seatbelts, board Cheeky Airlines, and fly from country to country.
The Countries We Visit
Each destination is immersive, musical and fully participatory — with every child actively involved.
China
Children sing in Mandarin and play rattle drums together, exploring rhythm while experiencing the unique sounds of tonal language.
Serbia
Wearing wolf ears, children sing a lively Serbian song about a wolf — encouraging dramatic play, confidence and expressive movement.
Vietnam
Through the joyful song “Trâu Ơi” (Hey Buffalo), children dance with red fans while learning about the water buffalo, an important cultural symbol.
India
Children meet a little goldfish and sing “Chhoti Machli” in Hindi. Each child receives a small bobbing fish to dance with, strengthening fine motor skills and musical timing.
Mexico
With shakers in hand, children sing “Todo va a estar bien” — everything will be all right — building rhythm, resilience and joyful participation.
Brazil
Children drum together in a high-energy percussion piece inspired by Brazil and the capybara, developing coordination and ensemble skills.
Croatia
Wearing turtle shells, children sing a gentle Croatian song about taking things slowly and easily — practising self-regulation through music and movement.
Iran
Children sing in Farsi about loving all the animals, celebrating kindness and compassion across cultures.
Dharug Country
The journey finishes where it began — with a Darug language song about family and belonging. Each child receives clapsticks as we celebrate connection to land and community.
What Makes This Show Different
Every song in Around the World is an original composition.
These songs were written in collaboration with community members from each culture and represent personal stories and lived experiences. They are intentionally created for early learners — simple, repetitive, joyful and developmentally appropriate.
This is not a generic playlist of international songs.
It is a carefully designed, culturally respectful musical journey.
Designed to Reflect Your Community
Every childcare centre is unique — and so is every Around the World show.
We can tailor the countries visited to reflect the cultural demographics of your centre community. If your families speak French, Arabic, Gã (Ghana), Mandarin, Hindi, Serbian or other languages from our growing repertoire, we can adapt the structure of the show to ensure children see their home language represented.
Because we have an extensive and expanding library of original songs from around the world, we are able to thoughtfully customise each performance.
This allows:
- Children to hear their home language celebrated
- Families to feel seen and valued
- Centres to align the show with Harmony Week or specific cultural celebrations
- Representation to be meaningful — not tokenistic
We believe multicultural education is strongest when children don’t just learn about other cultures — they recognise themselves within the experience.
Educational Value
Around the World supports key early learning outcomes by:
- Aligning with EYLF Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world
- Building phonological awareness through exposure to new language sounds
- Strengthening rhythm, coordination and musical literacy
- Encouraging confidence in group participation
- Supporting emotional regulation through movement and expressive play
- Promoting cultural respect and inclusion
The Impact
Children leave the session feeling:
- Proud to sing in another language
- Curious about the wider world
- Confident to participate
- Connected to diverse cultures
- Joyful and energised
At Cheeky Tunes, we believe children don’t just learn about the world — they belong in it.
